  • December 2001 - More Light Presbyterians Conference in Raleigh, NC. More Light Presbyterians (MLP) will be having their 2002 conference in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 24-26th. The conference title is "Live Into Hope: The Spirit of God is Upon Us". For more information, please click here.

  • November 2001 - Letter about Gathering 2002 and Registration forms.Please read a letter from the Central and Planning teams regarding the topics and functions for the 2002 and 2003 Gatherings.   • October, 2001 - Focus of 2002 Gathering Shifts Focus -The planning team in Louisville for the 2002 Gathering has postponed their event, which will deal with racism, whiteness and resistance till the spring of 2003. Click here to read more about the exciting work they are doing to bring you a powerful, life-changing Gathering in 2003. In its stead for 2002 will be a visioning weekend held outside of Louisville, KY from April 11-14.   • September, 2001 -UN Office plans post-mortem on racism conferenceThe three-day seminar - Putting the Pieces Together: The World Conference Against Racism - also will explore the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s efforts to combat racism and to live up to its anti-racism commitments, and study the 2001 General Assembly's statement on the issue of reparations to victims of racism and slavery.   • Fall 2001 - Voices of Sophia would like to thank Bob Listou. For the past several years Bob has maintained this website. Recently Bob has been relieved of this repsonsibility. We would like to thank Bob for his years of service and time in maintaining a web presence for our organization. A big thank you to Bob Listou and ExecWare.
  • June, 2001:Check out a Voices of Sophia assessment of the 213th General Assembly. Our breakfast was a special time for us as an organization as we gave tribute to our foremothers. For your use is also a litany from the breakfast. Soon we will post our keynote speaker's, Joan Martin, presentation.
  • June, 2001: Presbyterian News Services. "It is our choice to go down with death or be threatened with resurrection so that we might reverse the death-dealing elements in our church and society" was the message delivered to the Voices of Sophia breakfast this morning by the Rev. Joan M. Martin, William W. Rankin associate professor of Christian Social Ethics at the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, MA. Click here for the story.
